ORGAN & PIANO DUETS
28 June|5:00 pm

Andrew Millington and David Davies: Organ and Piano
Arrangements of:
George Frideric Handel: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
Franz Schubert: Fantasia in F minor
Claude Debussy: Petite Suite-En bateau and Ballet
Sergei Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No.2 (excerpts)
John Philip Sousa: Washington Post
Julien Bret: Sonate L’Entente Cordiale
William Walton: Popular Song from Façade
Camille Saint-Saëns: Symphony No.3 (Finale)
David and Andrew began devising duet programmes during their time as colleagues at Exeter Cathedral. The combination of organ and piano, though unusual, provides plenty of musical scope, mixing the percussive element of the piano with the colour and sustaining quality of the organ. The fine organ at St Peter’s
together with the Festival’s Steinway D Grand should provide a sparkling soundscape.
This concert will finish at c. 6.15pm and runs without an interval.
