Budleigh Festival Choir | Stephen Tanner: Organ | Charlie Epps: (Baritone) | (TBC) Soprano | Bob Chilcott: Conductor
This exquisite Requiem will be sung in memory of Festival Trustee Dr Janet Keliher, under the baton of Bob Chilcott. The chamber choir, formed especially for this event, is drawn from some of the best local choirs, all singers who have a connection to the Festival.
Fauré himself saw this work as optimistic, speaking of ‘faith in eternal rest’ and an ‘aspiration towards happiness above’. With beautiful melodies rich harmonies, and the haunting Pie Jesu it promises to be an evening of quiet reflection.
This concert will finish at c. 9.15pm and runs without an interval.
