Our 2026 Festival finale honours one of Budleigh Salterton’s most cherished residents, the late Dame Hilary Mantel, whose Wolf Hall trilogy captivated the world. This special concert brings the acclaimed TV adaptation to life in the town she called home.

Composer Debbie Wiseman’s atmospheric score is performed live by the Locrian Ensemble, with radiant soprano Grace Davidson, the voice of the original soundtrack, and actor Anton Lesser, who portrayed Sir Thomas Moore, weaving Mantel’s unforgettable words between the music.

With projected imagery evoking the Tudor world of Cromwell and Henry VIII, Wolf Hall in Concert becomes a powerful act of remembrance and celebration, a chance for Budleigh to salute Hilary Mantel’s legacy in music, image and voice.

This concert will finish at c. 9.45pm and includes a 20 minute interval.

This concert will be British Sign Language interpreted.
