Programme of On-Line Talks

The Budleigh Music Festival continues on-line in 2020.

The Budleigh Music Festival 2020 was cancelled but for music lovers, all is not lost with a free online programme for Friends of the Festival and people shielding in Budleigh Salterton.

Many people enjoyed the series of interviews held by Artistic Director, Jason Thornton each Wednesday during July and we now have an exciting new line-up of a further 5 talks, one on each Wednesday in September, again at 4.30pm.

Jason’s engaging and informal interview style produced fascinating insights into the musical and, at times, personal, lives of Elin Manahan Thomas, Ben Baker, Nicholas Marshall, Lauren Zhang, Sacha Rattle and Zeynep Ozcusa, whilst local interest came in the interview with Budleigh Literary Festival Director, Annie Ashworth.

Opening the next series of talks on Wednesday 2nd September the tables will be turned on Jason Thornton when he is interviewed by Festival Trustee, David Wright. The full schedule is as follows:

Wednesday 2nd September

Festival Trustee, David Wright, will hope to give those watching an insight into what excites and energises Jason Thornton as we work towards the next Festival in 2021. What and who was it that inspired Jason to pursue his career in music? Did he really play truant from school?
