Bob Chilcott returns to the Festival by popular demand, following the success of our 2023 choral workshop. We are thrilled that Bob has chosen to conduct the 20th anniversary performance of his enormously successful Little Jazz Mass at the Budleigh Music Festival. Originally performed by a choir of 400 singers in New Orleans in 2004, the work will be accompanied by a jazz trio.

We invite singers who can read music and have an enthusiasm for choral singing to join us for an inspirational day of communal singing. For those of you who joined us last year, you will know that Bob will weave his magic over the course of the day-long workshop, producing a showcase performance at 5pm that will inspire singers and listeners alike. Bob’s music is known by choirs across the world for glorious melodies and rich textured harmonies.

He is a former member of the King’s Singers and his inspirational conducting has led him to be Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Singers since 2002. During the showcase performance you will be joined by the Budleigh Music Festival Youth Choir, comprised of singers from local schools.
