Ryan is an acknowledged rising star and can be heard regularly on BBC Radio 3. Ryan won the Gold Medal at the 2021 ROSL Annual Music Competition and is a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist for 2022-2024. This Scheme selects the most promising young artists worldwide, to support and nurture; Ryan is one of those artists.

Ryan graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he is currently doing a master’s degree. He was awarded the Keyboard Prize, also first prize and Gold Medal at the ROSL Annual Competition, first prize at the Bromsgrove International Musicians’ competition, plus prizes at competitions in Italy, Germany and China. Ryan is a Tillet Debut scheme artist, a Munster Trust Recital Scheme artist and part of the Radio 3 New Generation Artist scheme. He has given concerts across the USA and Europe, and has performed for King Charles III at the King’s Honours of Scotland ceremony and for his visit to the Royal Conservatoire. Ryan has recorded with the Berliner Symphoniker, and was soloist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.

Ryan plays a Bayan Spectrum accordion by Bugari Armando (made possible by his sponsors – the John Mather Trust & Dewar Arts Awards). He is grateful to the Cross Trust, Drake Calleja Trust, Countess of Munster Musical Trust, RCS Scholarship Fund and Help Musicians UK for their support.
